Mission Statement
To give students an education for life on earth, life by faith in Jesus Christ, and eternal life in heaven. This education is based on biblical truth and centered on the good news of forgiveness in Christ.
Our Approach
The purpose of our school is to assist parents with the Christian education of their child. This task involves teaching students how to understand and apply God’s inspired and inerrant Word. God gives parents the directive to educate their children “in the training and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4).” God promises to bless our children when they are trained in His Word, because of the guidance, security, and encouragement that it gives.
With God’s help, it is our goal that children entrusted to our care will become useful citizens through their growth in the knowledge and love of our Savior. In order to serve the Lord with their abilities and talents, students are taught that they have good reason to learn of God’s orderly creation (mathematical, biological, and physical sciences) and of God’s continual working in the affairs of the world (social sciences). Students are also taught how to communicate well (language arts) in order to share God’s Word of peace and promise with others.
Peace Thru Christ Lutheran School is not merely a private school. We consider Christian education to be the best education for a child’s physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The school cannot take the place of the home, but it can assist parents in their God-given duty of training their child. Therefore, we ask you to support the work of the school and to take an active part in your child’s education.
Church Affiliation
Peace Thru Christ Lutheran School is a ministry of Peace Thru Christ Lutheran Church. We are a confessional Lutheran Church whose aim is to uphold the Biblical teachings and Christian values which God restored to the world through the Lutheran Reformation some 490 years ago. We are part of the Church of the Lutheran Confession (CLC). We proclaim to a world dead in sin that salvation is a gift of God’s grace; that Jesus Christ paid the full sacrificial price—His very life—so that gift of salvation could be ours. We teach that the Holy Spirit works repentance and faith in the hearts of individuals through which one receives the blessings of Christ’s redemption. The foundation for such saving faith is the Bible—God’s holy, unchangeable, inerrant Word. Since “all Scripture is given by inspiration of God,” the Bible is completely reliable, trustworthy and true. It is the only source of our faith and life.
Benefits of a Multi-Grade Classroom
There are many, perhaps more opportunities (because of the nature of the multigrade classroom) for children to work and develop at their own level on a continuous basis

Christine Gerbitz
Grades K-8 Teacher
I am excited to have a role in reopening the school at Peace Thru Christ. Teaching elementary school has been something I saw myself doing, even at a young age. Immanuel Lutheran High School and Immanuel Lutheran College was where I gained an invaluable base in the true Word of God. Then a detour was taken into farming, raising a family and banking. Each of these detours has prepared me to be a better teacher than I would have been without them.
I have educational experience from raising 5 children who are now adults. Our family has always been involved in Agriculture which led me to participate in a Wisconsin Farm Bureau leadership program. That program inspired me to continue pursuing my life-long dream to be a teacher. In 2022, I graduated from UW-Madison, certified to teach grades 1-8 and English as a Second Language. Teaching experiences include third and fifth grades; and most recently 6th grade English and Social Studies. I am looking forward to working with students and families as school starts this fall.
Our family joined Peace Thru Christ in December of 2005. Involvement in church includes teaching Sunday School, being a member of the Evangelism committee, Hannah’s Helping Hands, the School Start up committee, and directing the church choir.

Daniel Schaefer
Principal
I am a retired professor from the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My professional experience includes research, teaching and academic administration.
Christian elementary education has always been important to me. My first professional position was as Assistant Professor of Animal Sciences at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. When the opportunity arose for me to move from Purdue to Wisconsin, an important consideration was the opportunity for our two children to attend a Lutheran Christian Day School in Madison.
I have been a member of the Peace Thru Christ congregation since 2011, and will soon complete my eighth year as congregational President. I am pleased to support and engage in the re-opening of the Peace Thru Christ Lutheran School. Lord, bless our efforts.
